AIESEC in Gothenburg is one of the oldest local committees in Sweden where great people worked. For example, Jan Kenneth Eliasson, the former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, was actually a local committee president in Gothenburg! We are proud of our history and nowadays it inspires us in our everyday work!
Today we take the challenge to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our project team is working hard to communicate the SDGs and educate local community, by raising awareness about current global issues and volunteer opportunities. Recently, we have become members of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth, and we are sure that this partnership will help us flourish and bring our Local Committee on a new level.
Gothenburg is a highly-developed economic region in Sweden and it is full of entrepreneurial minds. Startup companies, striving for excellence, appear everyday. So, why not trying to work together and combine our resources to achieve common goals? Establishing long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with entrepreneurs and startups is our another important work direction.
We have a great team of proactive, dedicated and passionate people and we are sure that through creating high-quality leadership experiences, we contribute to a better future!

“I stand behind SDG number 5 Gender Equality because women have an important role not only in all the SDGs, but in society. And if we want to reach all the targets, to actually make an impact, it won’t suffice to only include half the population. We need everyone.”
“It was clear for me to join AIESEC and a dedicated Local Committee which stands for taking action with local and global issues. I want to feel that I am and can personally contribute to sustainability in my own city”.
“I am with AIESEC because I believe in SDG 17 – Partnerships for the goals. AIESEC enables youth to connect with all corners of the world, and it is through these connections we together can build a better, fairer and sustainable planet for all.”.
“The sustainable development goal that AIESEC in Sweden can contribute the most to is the one about education (SDG 4). I say this because we’re a student organization and so we know how important that is”.
“By helping the youth become more self-aware and global-minded, AIESEC creates the basis for building stronger and more sustainable institutions, thus aiming to increase justice and inclusiveness in societies”.
“I believe that education (SDG 4) and international experience can give birth to an open mindset. AIESEC enables that and that is why I am a part of it!”.
